Q#4 - The Maturity Question: What is the wise thing to do?
Wisdom = the ability to make good decisions based on knowledge, experience, and understanding of what truly matters.
“13Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. 14For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. 15Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. 16She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. 17She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. 18Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly.” Proverbs 3:13-18 (NLT)
“A prudent (wise) person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton (fool) goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.” Proverbs 27:12 (NLT)
“The wise are mightier than the strong, and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger.” Proverbs 24:5 (NLT)
What is the wise thing to do?
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Wisdom is knowing the difference.
“5If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.” James 1:5-8 (NLT)
