Discussion Questions:

  1. Why do you think hypocrisy in the Church is one of the biggest reasons people struggle to trust it? Read Matthew 23:27-28 and Romans 2:21-24. What do these passages say about hypocrisy, and how should Christians respond when they see it?

  2. Have you or someone you know experienced church hurt? How did it impact your faith? Read Psalm 147:3 and Colossians 3:12-13. What do these verses teach us about healing and forgiveness in the Church?

  3. How do past failures of the Church (abuse, corruption, division) affect the way people see it today? How can the Church acknowledge past wrongs while moving forward in truth and grace?

  4. Read Matthew 16:18. What does this verse reveal about Jesusโ€™ role in building the Church? How does trusting Christ as the foundation of the Church help us see past the failures of people?

  5. Why do we sometimes expect perfection from the Church, and how does that lead to disappointment? How does knowing that God is still at work in the Church encourage us to stay committed?

  6. Read 2 Timothy 2:13 and Ephesians 4:15-16. How do these verses show that despite human failure, God is still working through His Church?

  7. What practical steps can we take to be part of the solution rather than just pointing out the problems?
